From an idea to a project

Registration opens on 1 July and closes on 23 October. To share your project at the event, complete the idea-validation and preparation checkpoints.

Join the official group to ask about registration, get guidance, and resolve questions about your project.

1

Choose your project

It can be a website, game, app, robot, digital artwork, AI prototype, or an idea in progress. The idea is validated before moving on to the next steps.

2

Build it solo or as a team

Children and teenagers aged 6 to 19 can take part if they are attending primary or secondary school, including technical secondary schools with an additional school year.

3

Register it

Share the project information, category, team members, and technical needs. Registration closes on 23 October 2026.

4

Complete the checkpoints

To present at the showcase, the project must pass every checkpoint: validated idea, prototype progress, prepared demo, and a clear explanation.

Project Categories

There are several categories where you can register your project, from basic programming to advanced hardware.

Get ready to share your project

A practical list to help you arrive ready to show what you have made.

Computer, tablet, phone, or hardware needed for the demo.
Chargers, adapters, and an extension lead if your project needs one.
An offline version or screenshots in case the connection fails.
A simple poster with name, category, team members, and the problem it solves.
A responsible adult for participants under 18.
Water, a light snack, and support materials to explain the project.

Progress counts

Coolest Projects is not a traditional competition. Prototypes, learning, and work in progress are all welcome. To present at the showcase, each project needs a validated idea and completed checkpoints.
